In the spirit of slowing down (two words bloggers rarely use), I wanted to write about one of my fave pastimes - reading! I've always been a book nerd ever since I was a child. My dad would bring me and my brother to a book store and I'd stock up on Junie B. Jones books and crush through them all within a weekend. I digress. In the midst of the everlasting balancing act that is my life, I pushed my passions for reading and being fully engaged into a novel aside. Within the last year I decided enough is enough - let's get back to it! Choosing books that not only help develop me as a person, but books I can deeply connect with. When I find a good book, I find myself getting attached to the characters and their emotions (call me an empath, I know). So here are some books I've read and loved year and some I plan to read. Note: I can make a book list similar to my Restaurant list if you guys are interested! xx

Obsessed List

The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

Dark Places by Gillian Flynn

The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen

Originals: How Non-Conformists Move the World by Adam Grant

All Danielle Steele books (my grandma gives me all DS books & I read every single one)

To Read

The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt (started 9/14/19)

The Secret History by Donna Tartt

The Gentleman from Moscow by Amor Towles

The Rules of Civility by Amor Towles Purity by Jonathan Franzen

Freedom by Jonathan Franzen

Ohio by Stephen Markley

What She Knew by Gilly MacMillan

The Graveyard Apartment by Mariko Koike

I hope you find these recommendations helpful! I've found my most favorite books - many not noted because I've read a vast number throughout the year - by wandering through the bookstore and giving a captivating description a chance. So if you need an escape from all things digital and working so hard, I support any of the above.
